Accommodation

The restored 1880’s Hummocks Station offers a unique opportunity to stay in comfort while enjoying the quiet and seclusion of a bygone era while experiencing the present beautiful vistas….hills, vines, trees and native birds and animals.

The upgrade of this historic building has been made sympathetically, with no attempt being made to provide a fully modernised facility, but with appropriate upgrading to make it comfortable and acceptable to modern tastes yet retaining the original ambience. Starting in 2004, most of the restoration work has been done personally by Merry & Roger, with help from local tradesman when required.

 There are 6 spacious bedrooms with either King or Queen sized beds.  All rooms are non smoking, cool in summer and warm in winter. Great rooms for a great sleep! Ceiling fans and electric heating have been added for modern comfort.

The eastern verandah looks out to a vineyard and red river gums & offers 2 very large rooms with King Size beds and modern ensuites.
The western verandah offers 4 bedrooms, all with a Queen Size bed and 3 with an additional single bed. These bedrooms share an adjacent modern unisex bathroom (all under the same verandah) with 3 loos and 2 showers and which can accommodate a wheelchair. There is plenty of vanity and mirror space.

A fully equipped guest kitchen and lounge area is provided for guest meals and a large shady pergola area, with gas BBQ is available. BBQ packs and picnic hampers, together with a small selection of ready to heat pre cooked meals are available by prior arrangement.

The verandah and pergola areas are sheltered by glory vines in summer. Watch the sunset over the hills while enjoying happy hour on the verandah….a tradition at Hummocks Station enjoyed by all!! In warmer months, dining under the stars is almost obligatory.
